“Why do I have persistent fat around my belly even though most other areas are ok?” This questions was submitted by Jackie in UK via Facebook Private Message.
Genetics determine where you are predisposed to gain fat on your body depending on your lifestyle habits. For some it is just belly – majority of guys. For many women it can be the pear shape with heavy lower half and skinny top half. Others get it on their arms. It varies. But this is down to genetics predominantly. But it does depend on your lifestyle habits.
This excess fat will only occur when consuming processed unhealthy foods as well as fatty foods or ones full of additives and highly processed sugars. Other reasons for increased belly fat is stress as cortisol release leads to increased fat cells on the belly. Also the worse you eat the more toxic your body becomes and it converts toxic cells to fat cells. So focus on making positive changes in your lifestyle and eat healthy wholefoods and learn to control stress as best you can.
