What have you already talked yourself out of doing today that on reflection you’d have been better doing? How about yesterday? How about during your life so far? Start putting the same energy into talking yourself IN TO doing things as out of them.
Humans do love making excuses and do love playing the blame game. Taking personal responsibility is an alien concept to most. We are great at talking ourselves out of doing things even when logic screams do it. For most this even applies to something as simple as exercise where the benefits are so many yet so few consistently do it.
Fear is also a huge factor in the decisions we make and our natural self preservation and protection often means we talk ourselves out of doing things. But in reality what is being lost with this thinking? How much can be gained by talking ourselves into certain decisions?
