The quick answer is NO. Let me explain. Kettlebells are just a lump of weight. Dumbbells are just a lump of weight. Rocks are just a lump of weight. It doesn´t matter what you use as it is what you do with it that matters. Muscles react to stimulation and what tool you use has little to no effect on this stimulation.
What matters is intensity, progression and muscle confusion. Once you apply these principles to any programme using any equipment you will see results. There are exercises that are easier or more suitable to do with kettlebells vs dumbbells but vice versa. So focus on what you are doing and giving it your all and don´t worry about the tool.
