When you think of exercise what feelings does it trigger? When you exercise what’s the motivation? As the world becomes increasingly obsessed with looking a certain way exercise increasingly is associated with body shape. It’s much more than that. Exercise regularly for your mental health not body shape.Exercise has so many benefits and needs to be a key foundational habit in your lifestyle. It’s one of the elements that I make a non negotiable. While I care about my body shape, as we all do as connects in part to our self esteem, regular exercise is much more about servicing my mental health. It has such a huge impact on it. Exercising guarantees release of positive healthy hormones so you will always feel better after exercise. Your energy will be elevated. Your mood will be elevated. You will have released some stress/tension. You’ll feel better about yourself and your self esteem will elevate. You’ll make healthier choices when exercising regularly. Life can be so tough but use exercise as medicine for your mind in difficult times vs relying on destructive alternatives for temporary escapism. The narrative around exercise needs to shift to being about mental health. Change the script in your head and watch the consistency improve.
